I love organic products and it's a great way of supporting local brands. Albeit expensive, at least you're sure what you're putting in your body is all natural. With SoTrue Lavender Oatmeal Castile Soap, it has its high points and low ones as swell.

Sample Size
I was pretty surprised with the size of the sample but it's good enough for maybe a week or two's worth of shower trips to the bathroom. Also a good size for a travel bathroom kit.

Packaging
Nicely wrapped in the SoTrue wrapper. Very cute.

Scent
When I got this in the mail, it slightly smelled of lavender and just like any other ordinary organic soap. When I tried it out, I noticed I could barely smell the lavender. Not disappointing, but the name might be misleading since there's barely no trace of the lavender scent while you lather up.

Lather
I was expecting the soap to at least bubble up but there was very little lather from the soap. But again, that's why it's organic is that it doesn't have all those chemicals that make your supermarket-bought soap lather up. So ladies, don't expect bubbles from this sample.

Texture
Obviously, this soap was made with glycerin and it was pretty much slimy because of that ingredient. What I loved though is the oatmeal bits in the bar which also served as a nice exfoliant to remove dead skin cells.

Overall Experience
This product was OK, I've tried other organic soaps with the scent more evident even as I shower. The plus point for me really was the oatmeal ingredient which I stated earlier, makes a great exfoliant.

I was excited to try this out when I received this item as I am a big lavender fan. However, I have to say I was disappointed because it smelled minty. It's not offensive but I was just expecting a different smell altogether. When using the soap, I noticed the bar's surface developed a small film of jelly sort lather. On my first use, I felt the oatmeal was a bit sharp/rough. Since it's my first use, I thought maybe it was because it's still hard and might soften with the bar upon succeeding use. But after the 3rd usage, I have to say I have to stop altogether as the oatmeal bits caused several scratches on my skin. I'm used to exfoliating but this type of exfoliant is too much for my skin to handle. On a side note, this soap doesn't melt so easily like other organic soaps I used before.

I love the small of this product. I have dry skin and this is not as moisturizing as I hoped it would be. With the exfoliating claims, I can't also attest to because my skin seems to be the same after using it for a couple of days. The positive note is that it did not make me break out.
