I have combination/oily skin and I wanted to wear "my-face-but-better" make-up. I was worried my face would look cakey if I include this in my make-up regimen (because it's an extra layer of gunk) BUT I wanted to have semi-pore-less skin so I tried it anyway (thank you, Sample Room!). The sample arrived quickly (thank you, again, Sample Room!) and I was excited to use it.

I first used it over toner and moisturizer, before I put on my foundation (Revlon Colorstay Liquid Foundation for Combination/Oily Skin in Sand Beige). I dabbed a little on my T-zone, cheeks, nose and chin and spread it outward, covering the problem areas. It didn't smell like anything. I guess it's different for everybody but it kinda tells you that the smell, if any, is very little to none. The consistency stays true to the picture on Benefit's website; it's thicker than BB cream and when spread, it magically becomes powdery without actually looking powdery. You don't need a lot of product to cover your face, either. My face wasn't totally pore-less but the pores were minimized by a lot. I continued to apply the rest of my make-up and noticed that everything was easier and less streakier than when applying it without moisturizer or, in this case, the POREfessional Balm. I set the whole look with loose powder and I was happy to see that the outcome wasn't crumbly or cakey as I imagined it to be. My whole day wasn't as oily as my other days so I guess it lessened the oil, too. I usually blot twice a day (before lunch and before going home) but that day, I blotted and retouched only once before going home.

Today, I used it over toner and moisturizer, before I put on my BB cream (Skin79 Super+ Hot Pink BB Cream) and the result is the same, just a tad bit oilier (it must be the BB cream?). The day hasn't ended yet but I foresee myself blotting and retouching only once, before going home.

I didn't notice any side-effects (itchiness, redness, etc.) nor did I have breakouts on both days.

TL;DR: I think that Benefit's The POREfessional Pro Balm will be a really awesome purchase if you have big pores and normal skin. I'm not sure if my combination/oily skin limited the pore-covering goodness but it still worked fine (read; better than average). It does not smell like anything, works better under foundation, and does not layer up and make the overall look cakey. It even lessens facial oil by a bit and somewhat makes the make-up stay longer. The only thing I'm not sure with it is if it's sweat-proof. I would recommend this to friends even with the expensive price tag because you only need a little for your whole face (the sample tube will do for a long while; the full-sized one will last waaaaay longer) and it works. It's just totally worth it.

First thing I've noticed upon application, I loved how Benefit POREfessional starts out cream-like from the tube, and turns out powdery the moment it hits your skin. such a nice feeling! POREfessional has a very subtle scent thats also nice too.

For a combination skin, POREfessional has the right consistency not to make your face too dry; oily skin shouldnt have much problems because it can aid those certain areas from being oily too easily as well. Ive applied it both on its own and together with the moisturizer that I use often and I can say that it works best with the latter. as a "balm", it doesn't cover the pores out as much as I anticipated it to do, though It works better than the one I use (from one of those well-known Korean beauty brands.) I like how it goes on evenly, and doesnt make stuff like the whiteheads stick out, if theres any.

For me, POREfessional is a great addition to your face prepping mantra, but not a standalone product to rely on for full coverage. Once combined with the right products though, it helps bring out a nice, smooth, seemingly flawless skin that looks just like you came fresh from a facial. Highly recommended and looking forward to my real product purchase!<3

Big pores have been always a problem of mine. I wasn't blessed with clear skin.
I've been on a look out for effective product that will help diminish or minimize pores.
Tried drugstore products which are budget friendly since I do not want to splurge
into something that may not work for me. I have been eyeing couple of high-end ones but constrained by budget. Glad that SampleRoom is here, which enables me to try out products without shelling moolah that much. I'm so excited to found out that Benefit's POREfessional is one of the products available here at SampleRoom and so its the
first sample I got. Comparing it to the other products I've tried, this it the best.
It glides smoothly on the skin and does minimize pores. To add, I noticed that it also reduced my oiliness. It's scent also doesn't bother me. For the price, I think it's quite expensive. Better if it can be available in smaller package, since a little amount can go a long way. Overall this is nice product to have, I can see myself purchasing it given the budget. :)

First of all, this product was definitely not in my must-have makeup products because of its price, but thanks to Sample Room, I got the opportunity of trying this product first hand. Basically, all I can say is that, I LOVE THIS PRODUCT. I thought that I am pretty much satisfied with my 'cheapy' drugstore primer, which works pretty fine as well, but this one really made my makeup last all day and all night. And believe me when I say ALL NIGHT. I actually did not remove it until I see some of my makeup wearing down. But even up to the last moment, when I finally removed my makeup, there were a lot of product in my facial cleansing sponge. I am deeply amazed with this product and the moment I empty my sample sized-tube, I'm definitely grabbing the regular-sized one. It's definitely worth the price, and I thank Sample Room for giving me the opportunity to try this product.

My face tends to become an oil mine whenever I put creams such as B.B. creams and liquid foundations especially ‘mineral foundations’. That’s why no matter how I love the matte finish some creams give my skin (right after application), I always think twice before I apply them, making sure that I’ll be indoor most of the times and I’ll be able to retouch anytime I need to not unless I want to shine (with oil) the whole day. That was my main concern when I decided to risk my first 100 points from Sample Room for this Benefit Porefessional Pro Balm Primer. The aye-catching packaging is a bonus. I am just so glad that true to its word, the Porefessional can boast its oil-free formula along with its other promises.

I apply it over my sunblock/moisturizer, concentrating on the T-zone area as suggested by its makers. I am amazed how smooth its texture is and how nicely it glides on my skin. Unlike most products, you won’t “feel” you used something on your face, you’d just see it. Just like what I said earlier, at least in my case, it gives the matte finish I always loved without making my skin oily and yes I do not need to apply powder or use blotters from time to time which makes me conclude that it really does wonders in minimizing my pores hence the reduction of oil production on my face. It is great on the T-zone area that is very prone to being oily and where pores are much visible.

If there’s a downside, I think it’s the amount of cream you have to use in order to see or achieve the desire you want. I guess it depends on the condition of one’s pores but for me, the more, the better. Also, it’s just a temporary solution (considering the price). The moment I wash my face the smoothness is gone and visible pores are back. How I wish it could be permanent. Bleh. Other than those, I could not think of any downside. To sum it all:

Loves:
1. Oil-control formula/effect and non-greasy feeling
2. Matte finish
3. Smoothness
4. Blends on skin
5. Looks and feels natural / No-make-up feel or look
6. Packaging is sophisticated (hey it’s Benefit!)

Not–so-much:
1. Thinness. (But I think it’s the reason why it is so smooth and oil-free) You have to use more for a better effect and coverage.
2. Temporary solution. Oil and pore problems are back when you wash your face or when you’re not using it.

Still, this product for me is magical and is a must on my vanity kit or daily routine. For the oil-control effect alone, I’ll be willing to save and spend some moolah for Benefit’s Porefessional Pro Balm Primer. I am even willing to let go of B.B. creams and liquid foundations. This is the sole product I ever used that does not encourage my face to produce oils. Needless to say but I’ll do it anyway, I’ll buy a full size because I loved it and it’s worth it, but I prefer it to be in a handy or pocket size so that I can tuck it easily and be with me anywhere I go.

When I first used the product, I was really amazed and understood what all the rave is all about. When applied to the skin, the cream turns into a very powdery silky finish (you'd want to touch your face over and over!) that reduces the appearance of pores (kind of like an HD product). It doesn't provide coverage but it does make applying makeup easier. Definitely saving up for a full-size! :)

One of my favorite products is a mattifying, pore minimizing primer. Benefit's POREfessional has always intrigued me due to good reviews. I was fortunate to order thru sample room. I had the chance to use it today, even if I still had other primers on hand. There's a slight tint, but it did not alter my foundation shade. The balm-like consistency provides a smooth finish once applied on skin. I was amazed with the staying power, pore-minizing abilities and oil-control. I attended a formal event this afernoon. After checking the event photos, I did not look shiny! To think I did not blot my face! Very few products have performed this well for me. Best of all, I did not break out after using it.

I think as primers go, this one is pretty good in terms of filling up pores and giving skin the illusion of porelessness. If you're looking for oil control then this isn't it for you. Otherwise, it's an okay primer for that "flawless" look.

I am now on my 5th-day of using this sample. Just a minimal amount of Benefit the POREfessional is enough to cover problem areas within the nose and under the eyes. It makes the skin smoother so make-up application is easier and even. The product is not oily hence it doesn't feel sticky when applied on the face. Though it can be pricey (Php 1,600 for the regular size), I think the product can last for a month with everyday use. :)

I love the texture of the product and how it gave me a matte, silky and smooth coverage on my face. However at the end of the day, going home I felt oiliness on my T-zone where I put the product on BUT still surprised how the product minimized the oiliness in my face. Still I'm happy and grateful in this product. Thank you Benefit and Sample Room! :)

What I love about the product is the smell not so overpowering, the cute packaging, the powdery finish, and it does a great job on covering pores on my nose and cheek area..but not so good for oil control. Overall it served its purpose as a pore minimizer so it's a must buy from benefit!

I have a combination skin, and I've always hated being exposed to sunlight and white lights because my pores (especially on my t-zone) are so visible under them. I have tried a lot of toners and facial washes but they were of no help but this one gave instant results. Upon application, my face felt smoother and it didn't break me out too. I also made sure to look at my face while exposed to sunlight and white light, and surprisingly my pores really appeared smaller. For the past three consecutive days that I've used this, I also needed less powder retouches; meaning it helped to keep my oiliness at bay. It maybe pricey but I wouldn't mind saving for it.

More than its pore and fine line reduction properties, I'd buy this because it smoothens the face like no other primer I've tried before. It feels powdery to the touch and makes face makeup application easier (hello stubborn cream concealers!). I love its thick consistency (as expected because it's a balm) which doesn't hinder the ease of spreading it all over the face. As with all Benefit products, I love the packaging! The screw cap and minute opening enable precise dispensation. It doesn't hurt, too, that a little goes a long way so you'll surely reap your money's worth for a long time.

I tried this sample for three consecutive days before I decided to post this review. It felt very light and silky upon application. It does cover the enlarged pores on the nose and cheek areas but not as much as the result I was expecting. I didn't get any break outs from it. In fact, I placed a minimal amount over a pimple, and it actually dried out. I would recommend this as a primer. Much better coverage when followed by the foundation. You'll definitely look good on photos. I'm also a huge fan of the smell. I would purchase a full size when my sample runs out.

I give this a 4 because it's actually the first primer I used. I really like the texture of this and how it made my skin prepped for makeup, with the pores less visible and some "cracks" filled, if you know what I mean. I use most of what I squeeze out on my T-zone because I oil up there the most and it does a good job at keeping them at bay. I'm very happy that my face hasn't become greasy for some hours. I would be happy to buy a full size of this once I get the chance and moolah. :)

The benefit POREfessional is a great necessity to my make-up routine. I was amazed on how it worked with my skin, knowing that I have visible open pores on my face. I like how it covers my pores to protect it from getting dirt inside and for minimizing the appearance of my pores, just what I need to prevent pimples! I also like the smoothness of it when applied directly to skin. The scent is so good! Just realized that I can't apply it on my nose area because it becomes oily at the end of the day, but all in all I really like this product! I'll make sure I buy it after this sample runs out!

When I first tried it I was floored. But then it ocurred to me that I tried it at night when my pores were already smaller than usual. So as suspected, in daylight I wasn't as impressed. It does minimize pores but not any more than what my other medium coverage foundation usually gives me. I think this would make more sense paired with a light coverage foundie just to help with the finish. At least it allows me to build coverage on spot areas. Paired with the right foundation, it will last the day but just the same, best to expect to touch up. I wish they would sell the sample size as well because it's perfect for a make-up kit. That I would buy in a heartbeat.

This is great for covering pores temporarily. The primer is silky smooth in texture without being oily. I like that the primer comes in a flesh color; it blends easily into the skin. Also, I discovered that there is a better way of applying it than just rubbing it on the face. You have to apply it only on the areas where it's needed most and to use just a patting motion (contrary to rubbing) in applying the primer. In that way, the pores are covered nicely. In my case, it looks almost airbrushed. Overall, POREfessional did a good job of making my face flawless for long-lasting makeup.
